Are there any?
I am working with one peripherally right now. The woman I am
working with is an old co-worker, and I trust her. But I still
wonder what the benefits are to using loan mod companies when it
seems that consumers can get it done on their own. Has anyone had
any experiences with these companies? What value do they offer,
if any?

We had one of our long time wholesale ae's go into this. Working
for an attorney who also happens to be the attorney advisor for
one of the state mortgage associations. We sent two or three
people to her and their mods went nowhere. I cant in good
conscience refer anyone. I would only warn people that they might
be wasting their money. MA is requiring all loan mod people to be
licence through the NMLS.

Jen, my brother gave a company $3000 and then he just ended up
doing it himself because the people changed the phone number. He
got scammed and then he lost his house anyway 8 months later
